Business Card & Cover Sheet

For my business card and cover sheet I used my two of my skull illustrations because it represents my most recent work and shows the amount of detail I like to put into my work. Personally I think the outcome of the business card came out better than the cover sheet. It is more cleaner, there is subtle color, and it is formatted better. I like how the skull in the card "frames" the focus and emphasizes it more. I am satisfied with the result of my card, but I would redo my cover sheet.

Tranquility, The Ocean

For the installation project, I partnered up with Sarah Ferrer. The planning stage was difficult, deciding what to do for a project we've never heard of and was completely new to us. It was a rich experience, I learned what an installation is and what interaction with the art can do for the audience. After brainstorming, we decided to recreate a mini ocean scene, with the use of visuals and sound. We painted a seascape with acrylic paint on a large white paper, and for the presentation, created a slideshow with pictures of the ocean and the sound of crashing waves. The result was roughly what we wanted, but if I were to change anything about the project I would change the images we used for the slideshow and replace the sound of the waves crashing with the sound of a calm ocean to match the pictures more accurately. Ultimately, the presentation gave off a calm, relaxing feeling, which was our goal for our installation.

Sarah, Destroyer of Worlds

Although my portrait may not accurately portray Sarah Ferrer, it was very fun to depict her as a laserbeam-shooting, fire-generating superhuman. My purpose for adding these was because the pose to start off with seemed chaotic and interesting. I drew in the lasers and fire with a tablet and used Photoshop. I decided to make the portrait itself black and white to make the add-ons stand out more. Personally, I like how the portrait result was very fun, but in contrast, I would have done something more meaningful to portray Sarah. I meant to include traditional mediums to combine into the picture, which is something I would of liked to have done, but ended up using the tablet. This is my digital mixed media portrait.
